I have always aspired to write. I decided that it was time to quit aspiring and start writing. I have been writing since the third grade when I discovered that all the books I loved to read were actually written by people. My teacher, Mrs. Hill, taught me that I could be one of those people who wrote stories and I have been writing ever since.
Hoping that, someday, I would finish a piece and publish it, I have always written in private. That changed the year I lost my teaching job and I began writing again in earnest. I realized the power of writing to lift my spirits and the spirits of others. Writing can open eyes and hearts and can change the world.
My son, Hunter, is also a writer, and I want to show him the power of writing.
